Here’s a little history about Pretty Polly….
The company started in 1919 with two gentlemen, Harry Hibbert and Oswald Buckland. These gentleman by trade were manufacturing technicians. They formed this hosiery company with a staff of ten and two machines. They were part of the silk and rayon seamless stocking era of the 1920’s.
Interestingly nylon was invented in 1937 and this was a huge change in the hosiery industry. Nylon stockings were invented in Maryland, USA, yet they did not go on sale until 1940. When they were available to purchase customers were limited to three pairs per person. The first stock was four million pairs available in the US and they were sold out in four days.
Back and the UK Hibbert and Buckland had built a great reputation for high quality hosiery. We had also helped in the introduction of nylon. Business kept growing and hosiery became more and more popular. They did go through a rough period during the mid 50’s by the world recession in textiles.
By the 1960’s they had merged with Walton hosiery and were a very established hosiery company in Great Britain.
Some of their milestones, they were the first ever hosiery company to develop “non run” seam free stockings. In 1967 they invented and launched the first “Hold Ups” They were such a smash hit that Pretty Polly became number one brand! In 1968, they introduced the “one piece” known today as pantyhose. In the 70’s they introduced the knee high. By the early 80’s they added Lycra to the 15 denier style. In 1989, they were the first company in the world to produce and offer the finest hosiery in a 5 denier.
Pretty Polly continues to be innovative in the hoisery industry, Keeping up with trends, fashion and style. Prices are suitable for all budgets. Watch out for great sales some of the distributors offer. All and all, with over 60 hosiery items perhaps it is worth checking them out,Pretty Polly
Hi Best Pantyhose Review,
Just got your latest pantyose review, I have a few questions about Pretty Polly pantyhose. Which style would go best with a Hooters girl outfit, and do they have a cotton panel that you can remove for some “fun”? They look pretty shiny, my wife has a pair of Danskin shimmery tights she wears with her Hooters outfit, figured pantyhose may be a little more sexier to play with. We have been married for 15 years, my wife has always understood my pantyhose fetish, but now she is also really getting into it, really lucky! We had the house to ourselves last Saturday night, she walked around the house in heels, black bra and black crotchless pantyhose, wow what a night! thanks for your help, looking forward to your reply.
Thanks for sharing your love for pantyhose with the rest of us!
Steve.
Hello Steve and we would recommend the Pretty Polly Itailia 30 denier that would be comparable to the Peavey Tights the girls at Hooters wear, just they are higher end pantyhose which will feel and fit much nicier for your lady. If it is hot then you can always drop down to the Pretty Polly Oil Sheen 10 denier pantyhose and achieve the same shine as they have on their pantyhose!

I’ve never worn Pretty Polly, but they look like they may be worth a try. I really like Activskins and L’eggs. Are these similar to Peavey tights? As in, not real sheer, but not really tights either? Somewhere in-between?
