Sales up 7% at John Lewis
John Lewis sales rose 7% to £48.7 million in the week to April 19, despite the cold weather.
The department store said that the increase represented a like-for-like uplift of 2.%% despite the “unhelpful cold weather.”
A strong performance across the fashion department buoyed results. Clothing sales increased 4% year-on-year. However sandals and sunglasses struggled to match last years’ strong comparables and to everyones surprise, customers opted for hosiery; like support pantyhose, thigh highs, stockings, knee highs, shapers, tights, leggings to combat the lack of sunshine. Now John Lewis is not the only company reporting a rise in hosiery sales, looks like a generation without pantyhose is on the way out, much to the support of those that enjoy a woman showing off her legs in the newest hosiery fashion!

I do not know women hate wearing pantyhose so much. I wear them for comfort,warmth and the massaging effect they have on my legs. They are such a smart choice of clothing. On top of that wome’s legs look so much better in them. Wearing them is a woman’s choice, but if you want to be noticed by men…wear pantyhose. Bare legs are not a class y look and to tell the truth, rather trashy.
I think it should be a law that women should have to wear hose when wearing skirts or dresses in public.
